Hayri Sever, Prof. Dr.

Hacettepe University Computer Engineering Department instructor and one of the co-founders of Mantis Ltd . His current research interests comprise data access (and filtering) models, data and web mining, geographical information systems, business process management and uncertainty reasoning. And his expertise is database and information access systems, artificial intelligence and internet computing.

Dr. Sever has completed his academic education in Hacettepe (computer engineering, BS, 1986), Maine (computer science, MS, 1991) and Louisiana universities (computer science, doctorate, 1995). His researches have published in domestic -16- and foreign -30- resources.

Dr. Sever who have instructed between 1995-2000 as assistant professor, and latterly as associate professor , has managed and accomplished DTP (Kaşgarlı Mahmut Data Recovery System) and TUBITAK (Application of Formal Term Analysis to Matching Queries) –funded projects. He served in Nebraska (Lincoln), East Mediterranean (Gazimogusa) and Massachusetts (Amherst) universities in 1997/98, 2000/01, 2001/02 in order, as guest instructor. He successfully performed as chairman in Başkent University, parallel to teaching with Prof. Dr. Title.

Dr. Sever actively served as consultant in Havelsan HvBS Project in subject of software engineering process management and integrated logistics, between 97-99 and ANKARAY project in 97. His recent consulting are mostly around TÜBİTAK/TEYDEB-funded projects. These are content management, business processes, search engines, geographical information and archive systems, medical decision systems, administrative control and data obtaining (scada), information filtering, and online examination preparing tool and avocation services.

Dr. Sever has been doing or done arbitration through semantic based information and content management subject of 6th Frame IST (Information Society & Technology) project in Eureka Eurostars and EU LvD activity program and panels of TUBITAK-EEEAG. He has expert witnessing role in court of Ankara FSEK (Artistic and Intellectual Products). Dr. Sever, who is managing 10 MS and 2 doctorate studies, has instructed algorithm analysis, computer architecture, operating systems, software engineering, artificial intelligence, database management systems, data access systems and formal languages. Dr. Sever is a member of TBD (1374), ACM (7650955) and IEEE (80461218).

Güven Köse

Current instructor in Başkent University Computer Engineering and co-founder of research and development based Mantis Ltd. Data Access (and filtering) models, subject recognition and tracking, web mining, geographical information systems, bibliometrics and decision support systems comprise current research areas.

And his expertise is database and information access systems, decision support systems and internet computing. He has obtained his BS degree in Gazi University Information System Teaching department, his MS degree from Başkent University Computer Engineering department. He persist doctorate studies in Hacettepe University Information and Document Management Department.

Köse had an active role in Tübitak-funded Evliya Çelebi Geographical Information Layer research project that is terminated in 2007 and been consultant in Dr.Cad Medical Decision Support System that is terminated in same year. He is still serving as consultant in preparation and execution of TUBITAK – TEYDEB projects and persisting his expert witness role in 3rd Trade Court of Ankara.

Köse whose some of academic papers has published in domestic has managed a master’s degree thesis. Köse is still instructing Computer Software and C/C++ courses in Başkent University Computer Engineering Department.

Aydın Can Polatkan

Aydın Can Polatkan who is progressing along his doctorate studies in University of Tübingen in Germany is also one of co-founders of Mantis Ltd.

Polatkan has his major interest in computer vision and graphics, data and web mining, information retrieval and bioinformatics, he is currently studying on image based modeling and rendering, feature extraction and matching in Tübingen. Polatkan holds international publications.

Polatkan graduated from TED College in 2000, he completed his Computer Engineering formation in 2006 in Başkent University Computer Engineering Department. Polatkan obtained his MS Degree from same department in 2007, His Germany journes started in the same year.

He is still carrying out his business development director and Europe agent role that has been started after working as a research assistant in Başkent University Computer Engineering Department between 2004-2007. He is attending events and establishing connections, on domestic and international basis by representing Mantis.

Aydın Can Polatkan who is a Galatasaray fan is a member of ACM , IEEE and XING.
